What We Do

We help schools, aged care homes, and workplaces implement safe, evidence-based therapy dog programs that support emotional wellbeing and create calm, engaging environments.

How We work

We offer structured visits and flexible, tailored sessions — because no two classrooms, care homes, or clients are the same.

OUR SERVICES

While we offer a range of structured services, our work is never one-size-fits-all. Whether you're looking for a one-off visit, an ongoing program, or help designing your own therapy dog framework, we’re happy to collaborate and create something that works for your environment. Flexibility and meaningful connection are at the heart of everything we do.

The presence of the dog helps create a relaxed and positive reading environment, encouraging students to build confidence, fluency, and motivation to read. By reading aloud to the dog, students often feel less pressure and anxiety, which can lead to improved literacy skills and greater enjoyment of reading. Sessions are guided by a trained handler and are aligned with individual learning goals in consultation with classroom teachers.

About us

Meet Jess

Hi, I'm Jess Lee!

I hold a Master of Education and bring over  20 years of experience in the education sector, having served as a classroom teacher, curriculum consultant, and principal.

Currently, I teach part-time in a school library, where I love helping students develop a passion for literature and discover the many adventures that await them within the pages of books. Over the past two years, I’ve also had the joy of working alongside my therapy dog, Koko, in a school setting. This experience has given me valuable insight into what makes animal-assisted interactions effective. I’ve also explored national and international research to deepen my understanding of the animal-assisted therapy field and apply best practices in my work.

I draw on my extensive knowledge and experience to support the successful implementation of safe, evidence-based Animal Assisted Activities across a range of settings. I am passionate about educating clients on best practice approaches to integrating a therapy dog into their environment—ensuring a positive and meaningful experience for all involved, while minimizing risk and prioritising the wellbeing of the animal.’

Meet Koko

Hi, I’m Koko!

I’m an Australian Cobberdog, and yep — I’m officially a therapy dog… but mostly, I’m just here to spread cuddles, calm, and a bit of tail-wagging joy.

Being a therapy dog means I visit schools, hospitals, and care homes to help people feel happier, calmer, and more connected — just by being me. I’ve had special training through Therapy Dogs Australia to make sure I stay gentle, relaxed, and ready for anything (especially pats).

I love napping, playing fetch, swimming, and sitting on laps — even though I weigh 18kg. My favourite snacks? Apples, celery, carrot, sweet potato chews, and cheese. Definitely cheese.

Whether I’m listening to someone read, joining a classroom, or popping into a hospital room, my goal is simple: bring a little peace, comfort, and tail-wagging goodness wherever I go.
